The Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) published a 5-year report that contains lots of statistics about the GMAT exam and GMAT test takers. Here are a few selected stats from that report

  • Total Number of Test Takers: 267,000
  • Average GMAT Score: 539
  • Test Takes in India: 21,781
  • Average GMAT Score India: 562
  • GMAT to Attend MBA: 173,441
  • GMAT to Attend Masters: 20,599

Number of GMAT Test takers by Age

  • Age below 20: 818
  • Age 20 to 21: 27,437
  • Age 22 to 23: 51,322
  • Age 24 to 25: 53,128
  • Age 26 to 27: 45,222
  • Age 28 to 30: 41,045
  • age 31 to 34: 25,158
  • Age 35 to 39: 12,610
  • Age 40 to 49: 7,440

There are many other valuable stats in the report that will be very useful for international students, such as GMAT scores based on undergraduate major, scores by gender, test takers by country of origin / nationality, etc.
