GRE and GMAT Scores for UTA – University of Texas at Arlington
A couple of days back I wrote about the Average GRE Test scoring for various schools in the USA , including for University of Virginia.
A few students have requested from the comments for GRE Scores for other universities.
Today, you will know the average GRE scores accepted at the University of Texas at Arlington.
The Computer Science department at the University of Texas at Arlington requires a minimum GRE score of 1,100. But that doesn’t mean they will not give admission to students with GRE of 1,050.
I have written in detail on how graduate school applications are reviewed and accepted and also in avoiding the 11 common college admission application mistakes.
These posts will definitely help increase your chances to get admission.
Average GRE Scores for UTA
The average GRE scores listed represent scores of students from all the departments in UTA. That will also include master’s degree and PhD programs in UTA.
That doesn’t mean the average score will not be of any use.
Using the GRE score will definitely give you an idea of the chances you have based on your GPA, Percentage, TOEFL, recommendation letter, statement of purpose, resumé, etc.

Graduate Record Exam Score Analysis
From the above table for average GRE, for year 2006 to 2008, we have data for the 25th percentile and 75th percentile.
This means students with scores of 940 and below were given admissions. However, the schools didn’t disclose which department.
Maybe the biology or physics department will give admissions for GRE scores below 900, but I’m sure engineering departments in UTA will need scores of 1,100 are more.
I have similar data for another 20 or more universities and I plan to write them in the coming weeks.

It’s been one year I have been in USA. Just came across my 1 year old comment on this same page so thought like commenting here again. Just piece of an advice for the aspirants is not to blindly run behind US education. It’s not a cakewalk. For life sciences this is pretty much tough out here to get job or else PhD admissions. Make you own research when you choose universities. Don’t flock money guzzling overseas consultants. Need any help? Feel free to ask. Best luck for your endeavors.

Sorry for late reply. Are you applying to only four universities. I would suggest to apply at least 7 to 8 universities. Your GRE score is not very bad either. Wireless comm is not my area so it’s difficult for me to comment. But reputation wise you have good chances at first two universities you mentioned above (without experience too). I am not sure about North Carolina n TANM. I think ‘relevant’ work experience will definitely increase your chances at top notch universities. Feel free to contact again. Best Luck!

I am not able to comment on new GRE scores and computer science…..all universities you have chosen are highly ranked universities….I suggest you to apply for some lower ranked universities too for safer side….amongst above no. 7 and 6 are middle range universities…you can definitely have a shot at them…..

do our marks in school and graduation play a very important roll in our selection in an american university?. i have 60% in both 1oth and 12th, got 6 backlogs in engineering aggregate of 53% till 3rd year,which will surely increase to about 56% after i complete my graduation. i have not yet given GRE but i think i can get a score around 1250, would this profile get me in into an average university?

I am new to this blog and really need your help. I am working in NGO sector for last 6 years. Now I want to either go for MBA or Masters/ Management in Health studies. I got 480 in gmat. I have decided to apply to John Hopkins school of Public health . Apart from that I need names of two decent universities That I can apply for MBA course. I am not sure whether I will retake gmat. Manish – Does it really matter? MBBS degree holders try to come to US through any Bio related courses end up taking USMLE exams to get into residency? So, I believe that's what your plan should be too. So, it really doesn't matter what area you plan to apply for MS.

I am working in Accenture from past 1 year ,i gave my GRE in JAN this year and i got a score of 1070 so i decided to give it a one more shot so gave my GRE again .Unfortunatley i got less this time -1010 .I had prepared well but i am having problem in Verbal skills ,i know i can do better than what my score reflects.I want to try one more time ,so could you please advise me that is it feasible to write it again and how universities take up the scores is it the average they consider or the best score.I am sure your advise will be off great importance to me ,looking forward for your help .Thank you.

I have given my gre exam and I managed to get a score of 1050(q-750 v-300).And I am yet to give the toefl exam.Please suggest me some universities to do my ms (Computer Science) in U.S.My academic details are 10th-84% 12th-90% and in my U.G(total aggregate till 6th sem)-82%.
Please suggest some universities which are of safe chances and good chances.

I have got 450 score in Gmat and planning to write it again and got a date in Dec08.am getting killed with 2queries in my mind.
1. If i get the same score or lesser score in that will i get a university in US?
2. Giving a GMAT in Dec08 can i fall for universities in July09?

@Sumalya Pal: You have good profile, but I stopped selecting universities personally, and that's the reason I created 12 step University selection process. By now you must have come to know about how much consultancy charge for selecting Universities. It will be around USD 1000 or more. I know its hard process, but I have provided enough information to select universities and following that will definitely help your process.
Having said that, for your score, with right documents, you can get admission with scholarship. Try schools like UTA, UTD, UHCL, UCF, ..

i got 1360 in gre . verbal = 580 and quants = 780. i have not received the AWA marks and yet to give toefl exam.
my under graduate CGPA= 8.4 on 10. sir how do i convert this into GPA on 4 grade scale? i received first class with distinction in my undergraduate course. i also have undergone 2 months of unpaid internship at DRDO where i finished my final year project . however i donot have any publications.i want to do MS in EE department with control systems as my major.
can you please suggest me as to which universities i should look for and is there any chance that i have of getting RA or TA from university of virginia, rochester institute of technology and arizona state university.
