Fact : Over 90% of Graduate International Students Get Fellowship. Guess Where?

Have you wondered how your Graduate school application process works?  Today, we are going behind the scenes with Kelly Moore, Staff member at Graduate School of University of Texas at Tyler.

After a student submits the application,  Kelly goes to work. She would create a folder, match your test prep scores, then write a mini summary about the application before personally hand delivering it to the department for review. She shared lots of information that you can use to improve your admission chances.

The most fascinating things I learned about the University of Texas at Tyler is this Fact : Over 90% of qualified International Graduate Students get New Graduate Fellowships. Which qualify them for In-State Fees for first year. Then for second year students, they offer Returning Students Fellowships.

So, what did you think about this interview?

I totally enjoyed talking with Kelly. Some of the facts she shared was eye opening. From matching your test prep scores to taking personal care to collect all the required documents from the applicants.

As you can see, sometimes, it can take over a month for prospective student to send the missing documents. She have to keep track of all that, then hand deliver the applications for department review.

Also, she shared  some specific tips for writing statement of purpose and what can set you apart. Your story matters. Don’t just copy admission essay. Be unique with your story.

The most favorite part of the interview was when she said the about being a mom of two kids who are same age to college students.

  9. I failed in M1 during first semester but cleared it after attempting again. So my question is does it count as a backlog. I mean I never failed after that . Does this affect my chances of admission in MS.
