Question from Gautham on Revised GRE Scoring Scale

I have scheduled my exam on 30th august. I am a bit confused by the new scoring pattern.

The persons who have taken Revised GRE , pls tell about the scoring system.

If possible please include the scoring ranges..

Revised GRE Scoring Scale

GRE SectionsScores Reported
Verbal Reasoning130 – 170, in 1 point increments
Quantitative Reasoning130 – 170, in 1 point increments
Analytical Writing0 – 6, in half point increments

But, if you see Revised GRE test takers are getting Scores in the scale of 0f 200 to 800.

After completing the revised Revised GRE Test, you will receive preliminary scores at the test center.

If you test between August and November 2011, you will see Revised GRE scoring scale for the Verbal Reasoning and Quantitative Reasoning measures that are based on the previous 200 – 800 GRE General Test reporting scales.

The Revised GRE score range provided are intended to give you a sense of your performance on the two measures.

Beginning in November 2011, you will see your unofficial scores for the Verbal Reasoning and Quantitative Reasoning measures that are based on the new 130 – 170 score scales.

Old GRE to New GRE Scores Converter will give an unofficial conversion from old GRE scale to New GRE Scale.
