What is Advanced Placement and List of AP Courses

Advanced Placement (AP) in USA is administered by College Board which offers standardized AP courses to high school students. Students getting high scores in AP exams are given credits  that are generally recognized to be equivalent to undergraduate courses in college.

High School student gets credits for 4 AP courses, then they can use those courses credits in college.

AP Courses

Thirty-seven courses and exams in 22 subject areas are offered. Based on their performance on rigorous AP Exams, students can earn credit, advanced placement, or both, for college.

AP Exams are offered over 2 weeks period (usually in May)

AP Exam Fees

  • AP Exam fees is $87 (within USA)
  • $8 of $87 goes tot he school conducting the exam as administrative costs
  • AP   Fees : $117 (outside USA)
  • Authorized testing centers : $143 (outside of the United States)

All the fees listed above are per exam cost.
