QS World University Rankings
I consider QS Rankings to be bit of business. I believe, universities have to pay to  be included into their Rankings.

  • Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)
  • University of Cambridge     United Kingdom
  • Harvard University
  • University College London
  • University of Oxford     United Kingdom
  • Imperial College London
  • Yale University
  • University of Chicago
  • Princeton University
  • California Institute of Technology (Caltech)
  • Columbia University

There are several Business Schools Rankings available.

Business Week Rankings

  • University of Chicago Booth School of Business
  • Harvard University Harvard Business School
  • University of Pennsylvania The Wharton School
  • Stanford University Stanford Graduate School of Business
  • Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management
  • Duke University Fuqua School of Business
  • Cornell University Johnson Graduate School of Management
  • University of Michigan, Ann Arbor Ross School of Business
  • Massachusetts Institute of Technology

Each ranking uses a different methodology and weights the use of different data to produce their league tables, so it is important for candidates to understand what is being measured. In overly simple terms:

  • Forbes –  Based on ROI 5 years out from business school.
  • Financial Times  – Based on post-MBA salaries 3 years after graduation.
  • BusinessWeek : Based on satisfaction levels of two core stakeholders: students and recruiters.
  • U.S. News & World – Based on survey of deans and MBA directors, and uses GMAT scores as part of student selectivity.
  • The Economist – Based on ability of the MBA to open new career opportunities, as well as the international make-up of the school.

My Thoughts About These Rankings

I’m not a huge fan of college rankings.

It doesn’t help you in any way.  Probably the number one question asked by an international student would be – What is the rankings of this university?

You can use the rankings as a source for list of Universities.

You can be at top ranked school and end up jobless.

You can attend last ranked school and change the world with your work.

Stop fantasizing about college rankings. Start doing some real work by matching your interest vs college offering. Find out which college will help you reach your goals.

  4. i have done b.tech(cse) with 78.5%. which is the best option for me ielts or tofel????

  5. i have done b.tech(cse). which one is the best option for me ielts or tofel????

    1. I am not sure I understand your question. Are you asking what universities are best for aerospace engineering? There are several rankings which you can find by doing a Google search.[The top ones are: Caltech; MIT; Stanford; U of Michigan at Ann Arbor; Purdue; Georgia Tech; U of Maryland at College Park; Virginia Tech; U of Texas at Austin; Princeton. There are several others. You will be fine if you get into any of the top 60 colleges or Universities. Rensselear and Notre Dame do not appear on the top ten lists but they are just as good as any of the others.] Much depends on your academic performance and your GRE and TOEFL scores. If you could post these, I may be able to give you a more precise answer.

  6. I had a diploma in education and i wants to study medicine in any of your universities.will it be possible?.

  7. how is colorado state university for specialisation in embedded systems?
