  1. 1. Superior, Ralphs, and Lees Indian Store
    2. 5-6 times a month. We hardly get time to cook.
    3. Nearby.
    4. University of Southern California.
    5. Monthly Grocery share ~$70 per person

  2. Store: Copps(inexpensive),Woodmans(cheapest in Madison – like Wallmart),India Store
    Weekly Shopping
    Go by bus and sometimes come back by taxi
    Comes to around 150-180$ a month. I don’t try to save too much on grocery. I guess stuff from India store makes grocery exceed 150$

  4. We didn’t really calculate the monthly grocery bill ever. But the estimated bill is around $80-$100 per head. We go to Walmart and for vegetables etc, we go to Publix. The frequency is 2-4 times each month depending on study pressure. The bus service in Gainesville is very good. So there is no need to worry about commuting.

  5. $250-300 monthly for 4 people. We go to local stores, at walking distance, Aldi’s and Budwey’s. We also go to an Indian Store. SUNY Buffalo.

    1. Hi Atul Vaducha!!
      I am interested in SUNY Buffalo for electronics, can you help me in giving the details???
      Is the university good for electronic and communication students??? And Tuition fee, deadline for application, GPA, GRE, TOEFL, etc., need for getting admission.
      Thank you in advance :):)

  6. There will be around $60-$80 per person.But this is not constant in every month.Ther is more chance for increase the bill and less chance to decrease on bill.

    1. Simply we can say , depending upon how many people live in an appartment..Hey one more thing just groceries….not room expanses

  7. At Stanford dinners are free on weekdays. I spend around $100 per month on groceries.

    1. The money saved on free dinners is made up 100 folds on tuition fees by Standford, unless you are the lucky few who have funding.

      1. Well I am yet to land an RA but I have an internship at Apple and both the money and work are good. But again, 100 folds is quite an exaggeration. Whats your monthly bill and even tuitions?

  8. actually i am not monk but i try my best to save $ when i don’t have jobs in USA
    my bill
    ashirvad basmati rice = 10 dollar = last for at least 2 month , 10 lb
    ashirvad chakki atta = 12 dollar = last for at least 1 month and fifteen day , big size
    a cabbage whenever i cook = 1 dollar
    tomatos = 1 dollar whenever i cook
    frozen peaces = 2 dollar , last for at least one month
    potato bag = 2 dollar , last for at least two instance of cooking
    tuver dal = 3 dollar , small beg , last for three instance of cooking
    spices including redchilli , turmeric = brought from india = price , almost nothing
    salt = 59 cent
    in a week i cook maximum 2 time and minimum one time , after which i deep froze the food so in month i cook maximum 8 and minimum 4 times
    also , i have tiffin box which i may carry to school and other places so that i dont have to spend money on expensive food
    to conclude , food cost is nothing for me

    1. Noe BJ’s has indian Basmati rice and they are much cheaper than the ones in indian store….

  9. Grocery bill is inversely proportional to your lack of cooking skills and your habit of eating out. If you eat out or you dont know how to cook, your bill will be less but you will spend more money. I make my food almost every day so I dont eat outside at all unless there is some party. My grocery bill is atleast 200 dollars from Walmart.
