  1. SIR,

THE NAME CHANGE HAS HAPPENED WITH REGARD TO MY SON APPLICATION AS BELOW:-
    PASSPORT GRE TOEFEL

    1. FIRST/GIVEN NAME SURAJ JAIN SURAJ SURAJ JAIN
    2. MIDLE INITIAL – – –
    3. LAST/FAMILY NAME/
    SURNAME MEGHARAJA JAIN MEGHARAJA

Please clarify whether the above will pose any problem while applying for MS in USA.

I have decided to maintain the above TOEFEL/Pass Port name pattern while applying for MS. Is it okay. Please clarify. If so any seperate mention is required.

    Please help me.

    Thanks & Regards,

    Megharaj

  2. i m expecting my passport this week, and i have my toefl on 23rd, incase my passport deosnt arrive on time, cant i show any other ID proof ?

  3. I have also got the same problem. I registered myself with my dad’s surname. On center they first check my name ,then they check my father’s surname and they allowed me to take the test. It doesn’t mean tht they will allow u also. So edit your passport. It takes 10-15 days max. And if your state allows “tatkal” process then, go for tatkal process.

  4. hi raghu,

I have a typical issue, in my passport my given name is Abhinay Iyer, and the surname is Jayaraman

and ETS is not allowing me to register with a SPACE in my first/ given name.

    Kindly help, asap

    Best regards
    Abhinay

    1. hi abhinay

I faced the same problem recently
My surname is Narasimha Reddy. I tried to creat an account with this name but i could’nt

so i sent a mail to ETS regarding this.
they said one cannot have two-part first/surname. we can either merge it or use hyphen
in between. they also said if i use hyphen then i should fax them the details like my name proof and then photocopy of my passport.

but using hyphen would be weird so i merged.
you can do the same thing.
or just send a mail to ETS regarding your doubt and they will answer you in two days.

      all the best

      1. Hi spandana,
If u merge the names wont it create a problem while applying to a university??
as in our 10th and 12th even pass port has a SPACE in between the two names.

I totally agree with you, putting a hyphen will definitely be weird and if merging does not complicate things up in the future, i shall do the same,
        hope u reply asap.

        Regards
        Abhinay
