Raju – “God Take Me Away With You From This World”

Raju @ New H-1B Hiring Rules

I hailed from a poor family and had kept high hopes when I applied for an H-1B visa on January 2008. I become a victim of economic recession and I simply couldn’t apply.
I believe that people should never dream big to never get hurt. My faith never tells me that what I dream about would never happen.
Oh, God take me away with you from this world…I am fed up with my life

I’m sorry to see your dream is not becoming a reality. But, it’s not just you; so many like you who want to get an H-1B visa are in same boat as you are.

With the recession in the U.S., you are better of having a job in India, than getting an H-1B visa through some consulting company, who might not even respond to your calls and emails.

And if you get an H-1B visa approval, these consulting firms at times might not even give the papers to you so you can go for visa stamping.

The essence of life is to overcome the challenges that life throws at us. Life is at times unfair, it gives us lots of challenges and obstacles most of the time.

Some will have to face many obstacles, while others might just have to face fewer challenges. That’s the design of life, you have no control over that, neither do I or anyone else.

The education you get is to understand how to face events in life and get emotionally mature to face all challenges.

If you want to come to the US to study, try to apply at universities directly or try to have your company send you in other visa types. Having an H-1B visa is not the only way one can enter the US.

Let the readers add their thoughts to this post and help give you more faith and hope.

  1. dear friend raju.!

its a idiom that the grass on the other side always looks greener. never give up on ur dream.one day u will achieve it.

i had a dream to go and do MS in US.But dure to health prblms i was detained in the seventh semester of my degree(now assume how much harm it can do to ones profile!!!).i had to reattend the semester and gave exams again. now i have given my gre and got average 1140. ill start applying and would try for fall 2012. life is full of obstacles…evry challenge is an opportunity to improve ur ability to fight. god bless

  2. dear Raju,

I am also in same situation but i am still trying for giving GMAT and surely will go to US.

  3. RAJU,

BE CONFIDENT. USA IS NOTHING MORE THAN A WORKING PLACE LIKE OTHER COUNTRIES WITH BIT MORE MONEY. I AM IN US FOR 2 YEAR AND HAD DONE MASTER'S. I DIDN'T GET H1 FOR LAST YEAR AND THIS YEAR SO THIS MEANS I AM DONE, I AM DEAD, I WILL SUICIDE. WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU GET YOUR H1B AND YOUR VISA GET REJECTED OR YOU DON'T GET PROJECT IN US.

I AM CONFIDENT AND BELIEVE THAT I CAN GET A JOB ANYWHERE I GO.
SO PERIOD… I AM GOING TO PAKISTAN AND WILL WORK THERE. I AM NOT SCARED OF ANYTHING THERE …………. I WILL GET JOB AS I BELIEVE. TRUST ON YOURSELF AND BE CONFIDENT.

  4. Hi raju,

Hey don't despair ! US should not be our final destination. Let us not run after success, if we have talent n education, then fame n name is to follow definitely. If success is written in your destiny, then it will come to you from ways where you wont even expect.

Put your trust in Almighty and keep doing your best.
    Take care.

    Regards,
    adil.

  5. Dear Friend,

Always remember few things in life:
    "All adversities come with opportunities"
"When one door closes, other open door is waiting for you"
"Look at seeds in painful experiences and develop courage to nourish them"

    I hope you will understand

    Cheers!

  6. I would say you are very fortunate. At least you are in your home country, with job and family. It is better than being on h1b through desi consultant.

  7. Raju.
Trust me, going to US should not be the ultimate aim in life. Growth and Prosperity must be your goal. I can guarantee you that GROWTH is in India. With the dawn of the new decade, India is on a rising spree. India is a developing country, but US is a developed country. You have a much better chance to grow in India than you will have in US. So do not lament if you cannot make it to the US. There are billionaires in India too. You are at the right place at the right time. Think about it.
    Good Luck!

  8. Hey Raju,
Let me give you my own example. I worked for 5 yrs as senior SW Engineer in India. I had also got the promotion and best employee award. I come from lower middle class family. I am the only daughter and my parents are completely dependent on me.
Last year I got married and came to US on H4 visa. I tried for H1 got the heat of recession.
Now I have a wonderful husband who wants me to enjoy my life here and needy parents who deserves every bit of the luxury that I have for giving me the best education, love and care. In this case, what should I think of myself? ; Fortunate for having wonderful hubby? or the unfortunate one for being unable to help my parents?
Best thing I thought I should to do is not to lose hope. I have the required education and I can still try for H1 and also can try to get student visa. And remember this world is not just you and me. There are 100s of ppl in this situation and if everyone thinks of ending his life, world wouldn’t be where it is now. Ppl wouldn’t have reached the moon, would they???
Whatever fate gives us, we need to accept it and keep trying to solve the problem or find the work around.

Somewhere I read, “When you feel betrayed by life, just think about the less fortunate ones. You will know that you are still cared by it and you still have the ability to care others.”

I know it’s a bit boring saga of mine here… But I still believe you will think abt what I wrote …I Hope this helps you 🙂

  9. Hi Raju,
Dont be disheartened. Join good indian company. From there you might go onsite 🙂 Why file for H1b now and go to US and face a tough situation.Stay with good indian company, job security and there is high chance they will send you onsite also.May not be US but other countries are also there.Dont be so sad just for H1b.Your entire future is ahead of you.Make the best of it.

  10. Raju you need to learn that life always doesn’t goes the way we want. Above all our happiness should not be a function of our success or failure. Its hard to accept at first. But i will suggest you to accept the situation the way it is. Just think as if it was meant to happen like this. And now do whatever you can do to deal with the situation. You can go for a job or can even plan for other destinations like germany or france for further education.
    Best Wishes ..

  11. Hi friend,

Life is full of opportunities, when u loose one you can get other. It all depends how we plan. There are other ways through which you can go to US. You can apply for student visa. Think about the people who loves you, what happens to them if you loose hope.

    Take care

  12. Hi Raju,

Don't get disheartened ……. Now India is in a very better position compared to US …. I am now in US and feeling the taste of recession .. I am sure you will be coming to US … wait for few months …

  13. Raju,

No one can really feel what you are going thru.

But I know one thing for sure that God always keeps a loophole somewhere for you to discover. And that might be it. So do not blame fate or faith or your dreams. Keep on digging and working on your dream till you find the revelation.

    Good Luck!

  14. Hi buddy..keep your cool..Work in India for 1 year..parallely apply for jobs in US..Atleast 1 will click..Hope is the only way..Mankind relies on hope and luck..Take care and best regards..Praveen.
