Hi My visa Interview was on June 1st, 2012 at the Hyderabad Consulate for Masters Program At the University of Connecticut, Storrs majoring in Computer Engineering.
The Interview went like this….
My appointment was at 10:15 am and I reached the Consulate at 9:30am… By the time I went in it was around 10:00 and after the initial screening of I-20 passport and all Had to wait for the finger prints for like 25-30 minutes. Huge line.
Then was given a token number and my number came at around 11:10. Had to wait at the counter for like another 10-15 mins…
- Got a 221(g) at Hyderabad Consulate
221g Interview Hyderabad 2012
VO: Good Morning, Pass me your passport
Me: Good Morning. Yeah surfe. Here they are.
vo: Ok. So y this university?
me: I staeted with this is one of the oldest public reseach univs in the US…(VO interrupted)
VO: I know u must have prepared a lot for this interview please tell me from your heart why did u chose this univ?
(I was like SHIT! I screwed it up here itself)
ME: I told about the research opportunities and the etc facts for about 15-20 secs and he told OK that sounds more from the heart
VO: So u have an assistantship?
ME: Yes. I have one.
vo: what kind of research interest do u have?
me: started off with the professors name under whom I will be working and I mentioned the research areas and one of the areas I mentioned was “BIO-“INFORMATICS…. I am guessing that because of this I got a 221(g) coz in the Technology Alert List(TAL) the word Bio and Information Security is there.
Me: 68% till IV-I. Haven’t received my last sem results
me: 295/340 and awa 4.0
vo: What does ur father do?
vo mother occupation?
vo: mother salar?
vo:how many univs applied
vo: what are the admits?
vo:y did I chose this univ from the admits?
me: I responded back stating that this is the oldest university and a well established one in research among the admits
vo: OK that sounds good. I have sent you an email please respond back to that and we will get back to you as soon as possible…. I didn’t know what to answer and what to ask.
I told Thank You and came out of the hall with a smile.
Then I asked the Indian lady who was roaming around there to help and she was like you please respond and we will get back to u…. I responded back on saturday night and my case was updated on wednesday evening.
Really scared for this. Any experiences with 221(g) in Hyderabad for Fall 2012?
