Complete List of SEVIS Approved US Universities

For an international student to be able to study in the US, there is a well-defined procedure that must be followed.

It includes following several required steps, such as taking tests, applying of admission, securing an I-20, getting an F-1 visa, and then doing the actual studies in the US.

The problem is, not every college or university in the US can issue an I-20 to international students.

SEVIS and I-20

A university or college should be approved and certified by the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement before they can issue I-20s to international students. Universities should go through the process to get F & M Certification.

Authorized school officials must obtain and complete Form I-17. An overview of the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) Certification process can be found on the ICE website.

If approved, the school will be certified and be allowed to issue Form I-20 to qualifying foreign students.
