How long is the Bank Statements and Affidavits of Support Valid
Bank statement is a mandatory document and its part of your college application package for International students applying to study in the USA.
You are required to get two bank statements. One during your application process and the second one are during the F1 Visa Interview.
Would it be possible to use the same bank statement for both admission and visa interview?
Validity of Bank Statements
Last month, I applied for F-1 visa for US. Unfortunately, I got rejected. I have decided to reapply. My relatives had sponsored me.
I plan to apply again after 5 months. I have this query, “Will I have to make the support affidavit again with new date?”
For how long the affidavit for US embassy can be valid. No information has changed, everything is same. Same college, same country and same amount of money.

I’m sorry to hear that your F-1 visa application got rejected. But I’d like to tell you that one of my friends got his visa stamped during the third attempt. So, don’t give up hope because you still have a chance. Also, you should know by now that you have to be really at your best when appearing for visa interviews.

Validity of Bank Statement and Affidavit of Support
As far I know bank statements and affidavits of support are valid for six months from the date they were issued. I have looked at a few universities’ web pages, and they clearly mentioned about the document’s 6 month validity.
I assume the same rule also applies at U.S. consulates, too. I also remember I have read about such documents being valid for six months when they are used for US visa stamping, but I can’t say for sure.
For F1 Visa interview, I would highly recommend getting a recent bank statement. I do understand the reason you are asking this question.
You have pooled the money to get the bank statement, and it may be difficult to get the money again. But, I would still recommend you to get the new bank statement.

Its the power or IT. I want to make readers know that in Punjab the agents charge upto Rs.40,000 (exclusive of any document prepration) just for guiding- how to apply. Beside people of rural areas even educated persons pay them. Like these people I was also going to pay money to agent..But luckily while checking emails, I read about you.
I was just near my visa but the foolish mistake I made was that they asked me that “Why I have choosen to study abroad and why not in India?” I was nervous already and my communication skills went down. Anyhow, now I have made everything prepared.
To the other readers I want to say that English should be very fine, because their accent is sometimes very fast. Secondly, I realized that its very necessary to daisfy them “verbally”.
I thought that my documents are fine and genuine and I will get no problem, but I was wrong. They did’nt even look at my docs.
Finally, I will say that US visa is the easiest process provided that the applicant tackels the situation efficiently.
