Admission Agent: Canada Visa Will be Rejected if USA Visa is Rejected
Question from a reader about his US Education Agent’s comments on Canada and USA visa.
I have applied for admission to MS Pharmaceutics (pharmacy) to 10 US universities, and till now have admit from NEU.
I have been wanting to apply to some other country too as backup,if there is some prob with F1 visa.
I have found excellent courses in Canada, but have not applied there yet, because MY COUNSELLOR TOLD ME THAT IF MY USA F1 VISA IS REJECTED BY ANY CHANCE, CANADA WILL ALSO NOT GRANT ME STUDY PERMIT (VISA), BECAUSE THE TWO COUNTRIES HAVE SOME SORT OF TIE-UP.
Because of this, i have not yet applied to Canada, but I think its high time i stop trusting my counsellor and verify the facts.
I request you to please inform me if this is true- IF MY USA F1 VISA IS REJECTED BY ANY CHANCE, CANADA WILL ALSO NOT GRANT ME STUDY PERMIT (VISA), BECAUSE THE TWO COUNTRIES HAVE SOME SORT OF TIE-UP.
Also, can you please tell me if you already know students who after getting F1 visa denied, have gone to Canada for same level of program (that is- if visa denied to USA for masters, went to canada for masters only).
It would be great if you reply as soon as possible, so that i have enough time to apply for admission to Canada for spring.
I fulfil all criteria of Canada, have over-all distinction during bachelor of pharmacy, have research experience.
Canada Visa Rejection
We have heard several stories about US Admission agents and counselors
- US Admission Consultants Intimidate Naive Students
- US Admission Agent’s False Promises for MBA Admission
- Truth About US Admission agents
I want to ask you the following question to your Admission Agent.
“Are you getting commission, if I attend any of the Universities or maybe NEU?”
Either counselor is misinformed or trying to prevent you from going to Canada, so they can get their share of the commission.
Read the following article about a person whose USA visa was rejected due to fake bank documents is not now going to get Citizenship in Canada.
I certainly hope, admission counselor is misinformed and not trying to play with your career and future.
Do you have any similar experiences to share about Admission Agents?
My doubts remain unanswered many times, but I never consult any agent/counselor. for these reasons. Majority agents who help students, but pass wrong misleading information. They also guide which benefits them not to students.
Hi is age 38 à issue for study permit in Canada in indian embassy .is it hard in india..
i also apply for an f1 us visa but i was denied, im now trying for canada but i dont know what are the chances of gettin the visa.

Hi,
I was in US on F1 visa….but had to come back to India due to the tri valley incident…if i apply to a course in a canadian university will i be issued a visa or are many chances of rejection.
No this is not true as my friend studies in Canada in Dalhousie university for his masters.. he was rejected 3 times for US Student visa… All this is a fake story by your counselor.. you should reveal the name of your counselor so that students following this block does not approach such consultancy. I know minimum 20 guys who have got visa in Canada after getting rejected in US Student Visa.. Don’t worry and best of luck..
Ami Says:
Hey.. Kaushal..I am planning to apply for masters in Dalhousie University.. And here the agents are not giving assurance for admission. So should i apply without agent or not?and can you tell me the criteria on which your friends got admission means ielts or their academic or gre given or not?I am from India.
HI Kushal,
Can you ask your friend what are the step he has taken, like did he used agent help or submitted his application by himself. If agent then which agent.. and what are document he has submitted. did canadian embassy interviewed your due to reason that his visa got rejected from us. etc..
could you please help us out
is it possible for you to reveal the identity of your misinformed counsellor ? or if not the exact identity then city and a nearby landmark where the office is located. it might help others before they decide to avail services.
Person who posted the question should answer this.
I think that defaming some person or institution by exposing their name may lead to legal actions. So no one would expose their names. It seems that students will continue to get such mixed experiences from various counseling agents / services.
my counselors are trying allure me to one of there tied up university ,,i dont know how to apply for university that i have a shot at ..
i joined counseling service since i have a low gpa ,,with a good gre score
It is Not true.Canadian and American universities have no sort of tie up in education front. You should understand that both countries have different visa rules and process.Generally for Canada, No interview will be required but an interview for F-1 is a MUST.Only the similarity would be that if you have Canada study permit you may be able to travel to US without USA Visa.Otherwise this myth that if you have refused a US visa, you will get refused from Canada.I knew many cases where students have been refused US visa have opted for Canada education and they got study permits successfully. You should know when US visa is refused they do not put any stamp in your passport unlike in UK.So how would a VO at Canadian Embassy will come to know about US student visa refusal.
Hi Aziz… If u have a Canadian Study Permit u still require a tourist visa to enter USA. Even a PR of Canada requires a Visa to enter USA. Only a Canadian Citizen can enter USA without a visa.
Whenever you apply for a visa you passport has a barcode is scanned and all your information is revealed whenever such scanning is done. Be it any country. So if your USA visa is rejected it is mentioned in your passport in their system. and when you apply for canada they would scan your passport and would come to know aboutall your previous applications, rejections and acceptance… ALL THE BEST…
hi,
In appication form for study permit made outside Canada, there is one question:
“Have you ever been refused admission or been odered to leave Canada or any other country?”
So, if the answer is ‘yes’ for students who have been denied F1 Visa frm USA. Is there any chances their Canadian Visa will also be rejected?
Its not correct that you won’t get canadian student visa if you are rejected for US F1 visa.
My friend first applied for F-1 visa for MS in Mechanical Engg from MTU. But because his elder brother is working in USA, he was not granted the visa.
So, he applied for Canadian Universities for the next session. Ultimately, he got an admit from Univ of Victoria (better than MTU and 6th rank in Canada) and his visa was approved the very first time.
Hi Sanyam
Can you ask you friend give some information. like did he applied through agent by himself. if himself then how did he filled his application what document he put up there. also if agent then which agent he has followed.
Please help me in this
