H1B Visa Fees for 2012
What are the required fees to file H1B Visa application and total H1B Visa cost?
There are different H1B Visa fees depending on the type of H1B visa petition. Please refer to H-1B Data Collection and Filing Fee Exemption Supplement (pages 17-19 of Form I-129) for detailed instructions on H1B Visa fees.
The following fees may be required with an H-1B petition:
- Base filing fee ($325)
- American Competitiveness and Workforce Improvement Act of 1998 (ACWIA) fee
- Small Company ($750)
- Large Company ($1500)
- Fraud Prevention and Detection fee ($500)
- Public Law 111-230 (Special Fee – $2000)
- Premium Processing fee ($1,225)
H1B Visa Cost – Small Company
For small companies (less than 25 Full time employees, cost of H1B visa application $1575 + Attorney fees for H1B.
Additional fees to USCIS for Premium Processing.
H1B Visa Cost – Large Company
For large companies (more than 25 Full time employees, cost of H1B visa application $2325 + Attorney fees for H1B.
Additional fees to USCIS for Premium Processing.
H1B Special Fees
H1B Visa – Attorney Fees
Immigration attorney (lawyer) fees can vary from $800 few thousand dollars. Depending on the experience of the attorney.
H1B Visa Attorney fees can be $800 or $2500. It all depends on the Immigration attorney and firm.
Typically small firm Immigration Attorney Fees will be less expensive.
Premium Processing Fees (PP)
$1,225 for employers seeking Premium Processing Service for H1B Visa applications.
H-1B petitions are eligible for the Premium Processing Service. Petitioners may choose to file a Request for Premium Processing Service (Form I-907) to have their petition processed within 15 calendar days.
H4 Visa Fees
If you have dependent who need H4 Visa processing (application, extension, transfer) then additional fees for application and attorney may apply.
As you cna see, H1B Visa application fees can cost several thousand dollars.
H1B Visa Fees 2013
For H1B Visa 2013 Fiscal Year, above listed fees apply.
Same H1B Visa fees applies to H1B Visa Transfer, H1B Visa extension and new H1B petition.
H1B Visa Fees Refundable?
All the H1B Visa application fees are non-refundable.
IF USCIS cannot process H1B Visa application within 15 days for Premium Processing Service, then $1225 is refundable.

What fee are you asking about? There is visa stamping fee.

What is the amount of additional fees for application and attorney (approx) for H4 processing per dependent, if it is done along with H1?
I understand there is a visa stamping fee of $150 per applicant to go for stamping. Do H4 dependents have to pay just this amount or will they have to pay for application fee and Attorney too? If so how much?

Attorney charge small amount to process H4 in addition to H1b. Fees depends on the Attorney.

I think I understand now.
For H4 dependents they only have to pay application fee (also known as stamping fee – approx $150 per head) + a small attorney fee (not to the tune of H1-b, but somewhat lesser – as quoted by the specific attorney).
Please correct me if I’m wrong.
When I filed for my H1b I don’t remember having mentioned about my dependents (may be I’m forgetting something here).
After my petition was approved and when it was time for stamping, my employer just paid the stamping fee for myself and my 3 dependents.
Then we all went for the stamping on the same day after taking appointment.
I don’t see where attorney was involved in this case for my dependents.
I will go back and refer my petition approval papers if I see any mention about my dependents there.

hi there, i’m really fascinated by the job HSB is doing in helping students who want to come to the US for further studies. I have been the follower of this site for more than 4 months and it’s really been helpful for me as i am preparing for the GRE test. but i have been using the ward document which was prepared by S.K.M.Varadhan which is called “Mama Easy”(GRE verbal made easy) and it’s been helpful for me as i belief he sorted all the GRE words in word groups which has made life easier for me so far, though i sometimes question about its authenticity. therefore it would be great if some one could render me his suggestions about the reliability of that book let.
i’m sorry, i know my comment is irrelevant with this subject but it’s because i just need a quick response for my question and don’t know where to post it!!

Sometimes people are so desperate to achieve success and escape from the poor lives that they been suffering, they always don’t know where to seek the right help. They sometimes tend to stumble upon something in internet that might be carrying a issue of interest, which makes them immediately seek for help to that source. In process they might jump the guns too…or may sound totally irrelevant. I think, its ok for them to shoot these question(s), rather than not ask and continue to live the way they do. Who knows some one might be willing to help them. What is important is, we do not discourage people, and rather try to guide them with anything we might have.

Vivek, a lot of skilled labor might come under the category of chefs and cooks. I have personally seen people other than software or engineers come, with other special skills. Matter of fact, one time while flying, I came across a man from Azamgarh, UP, who didnt know a word of english, I filled his form given in airplane, but he held a US passport, he came as domestic help, for some high ranking officer in United Nations years back. I could just gape at him, with my higher qualifications but on the mercy of work visa. So don’t listen to condescending people like Nayak (I wont use his first name here as Lord Ram was so merciful and benevolent that even uttering his name absolves one of all sins!). Keep trying. Like I said as skilled cook in some Indian restraunt, but please be careful of fraud consultancies who might take your money under false promises. Fortunes can be overturned with God’s blessings, but keep trying. All the best!
