Is affidavit really required for F1 Visa Interview?
If you look at the list of required documents for F1 Visa, an affidavit is not a mandatory document.
Have you read Visa Officers ask for Affidavit from F1 student applicant?
So, why do you need one?
Because everyone is taking one with them!
You really don’t need an affidavit form for F1 Visa.
It means nothing in my view.
Your bank statements and bank transactions (passbook) has more value than your affidavit from a sponsor.
If you intend to take one with you, you would have 3 possible scenarios:
- Sponsor is in India (or your home country)
- Sponsor is located in a different country
- Sponsor is living in the USA
