hai, dudes i have read u r opinions but i am still confused of getting abroad.that i am confident of getting good score in gre but my family is middle class and do i get an scholar ship for studying and how much does it cost for me to be there,
@rajarshi ray Your comment means that people who were not able to make into IIT after GATE and are planning for MS are deficient and planning for escape. Please get enlighten. There are ~7.5 Lack GATE aspirants and only ~10,000 seats (may be i increased the number). Also going to US for MS is not for faint hearts. You are competing with best minds in world. The last and most important point is :- Don’t be crazy comparing M.Tech in India(even from IIT’s) to MS from some decent university in US. In India there is minimal innovation even in IIT’s. Instead of disheartening the aspirants get yourself updated.
the only single question one needs to ask is, am i really hardworking ( will sit for gate ), or an escapist who always prefers shortcuts ( will go for gre / gmat instead of gate / cat ).
Stop the fantasy behind a few dollars guys. Not all can succeed in this run. 90% have ended up working in restaurants and stores. Neither HSB nor others say about that on this stage. I feel that pain so i am expressing it here. I didnt get these questions when starting my journey. Dont loose u r profession. love it. go ahead only u have a clear destination. dont make such big and blind sacrifices for few dollars. earning dollars and spending here is same as earning rupees and spending there.
Can you show some real stats about 90% end up working in stores?
Do you see 20,000 Advanced H1B cap getting filler every year. If 90% end up working in stores, who is 20,000 H1B cap getting filled?
dear HSB,
I am in canada. I know whats happening around.. what all are doing. whom so ever u meet all have the same opinion. And one thing few faction are here only for dollARS. they dont bother what they are doing. See for the job openings even, all the industries are shifting their plants from here to China and India because of low wages there. Its a fact. Please dont give false assurances showing white stars. I am myself victim of this system. I regret the move taken then though
Dear Appu,
Thanks for your honest reply. it helps us to be cautious in every action what we plan. Still we think if we undergo pain in abroad too, but by making strategies to overcome the hardship. we would be in a right track i guess.
This is my opinion ….By reading this post the Avg Student get scare of things…The best one is –What if my visa is denied?
The first & last thing is U will make ur parents proud ,if u r in USA..
I am an average student studying ECE.May be I dont have much credentials to show off.I have never once gone leaving my parents, but above all of that it is my ambition and goal to do it and prove to world what i can do.Make my parents proud and first of all see the other part of me which I have never seen it.
Sacrifice for good you get better education in US and can show US to parents and then can take other calls to stay or head to India. Definitely we have learnings in US on each aspect Life, money, stress, time, future planning etc
USA is a country that will change me as a person either in a good or in a bad way. Am i totally ready to be changed according to a different country?
This “Change” or “Transition” from Indian life to American life is very important point to be considered.
