Why I Decided to Study in Canada Instead of USA

Update from a reader who got USA F1 Visa rejected 4 times.

I secured 3 admits from reputed US Universities

  • Old Dominion University
  • Lamar University
  • St. Joseph

I opted for Old Dominion for MS in CS. However my F1 visa got rejected four times.

I secured first ranked in PG in IT program of University of Mumbai also I have full moral and financial support from my family for Higher Education but things are not happening as planned.
Since I am unable to get US visa, I have decided to go to Canada for MS in CS. I have heard that getting Canadian visa is very easy as compared to that of US.

I also wish to know the career prospects in Canada in Computer Science field.

Canada Instead of USA

Education in Canada has its advantages compared to USA.

If you worry about getting job after Higher Education, then you really cannot go to any country for higher education.

Right now its easier to get Permanent residency in Canada after completing Education in Canada.

Good luck with your higher education journey in Canada.

  4. I study in Canada and I say it’s much better than USA (I’ve been to the US also).
The quality of education in Canada is high, and the environment is amazing. It also depends on the university you choose. I don’t get why some people are so negative about Canada. It’s great for people who are actually going to study, and want to do so on a better budget, and maybe get a permanent residency. The standard of living here is much better than the USA. And for cheapos looking for girls, stay in your own villages. We don’t need people like you coming in and ruining the rep of international students.

So instead of pleading for some articles with silly questions, search the blog first. Sorry i am not being rude but i have noticed that because of these silly questions only, HSB sometimes don’t answer to genuine questions too.. tc

Probably I will apply for a visa with a US university’s I-20 although I am getting any scholarship from that place. Why?? Simple man when it comes to education US rules and who cares about permanent residency, If you are educationally qualified any country of the world will welcome you. So don’t say that you are going to Canada for those weird reasons that you stated. The only reason you are not going is that you didn’t get that US VISA. btw I applied for the undergrad program and my major is mechanical engineering.
